Question:

: Hi,
: I have posted before questioning the color of my dog. I had been mis-informed (by my Husband who listens selectively)that she was a JRT. I went on a search, found your site (The most informative site on the net, and I've seen alot in my searches)and read all I could about the care of JRT's. It turns out that she is a Patterdale Terrier, not a JRT! I have become an avid reader of your site, and love your advice, unfourtunately, there is nothing on the net, about Patterdales that comes close to being as informative as this one, so my question is this, is your advice on JRT's applicable to Patterdales? I'm sorry this is so long, but I have come to trust this site so, and would really appriciate your view's.
: Thank-You!

Hi Aleasha,

Most of the information on this Forum can be applied to any breed of dog though the answers are written by JRT owners. Patterdales are terriers (as are Jack Russells, Yorkies, Westies, etc.) so I believe it is logical to expect your dog to exhibit many of the traits you've read about here.

I suggest you contact a Patterdale breeder to discuss the specific history, temperament, etc of your breed. Knowing about the breed will help you raise him to be a good companion.

Thank you for your kind words regarding the Forum and good luck with your little one.

Leslie
