| Question: : I have a male JRT Bobby who is almost 5 months old. I have found this site to be very helpful in bringing up my puppy. I'll have to admit the first week of having him was very challenging!. Luckily I am a stay at home mom. I have a three year old who has always been well behaved and they have been getting along well. I am planning to get him neutered in the next couple weeks and was wondering about the recovery period. The previous dogs I have had, bless their hearts, I adopted and were older and already neutered so I do not know what to expect after the procedure. Please give me a general idea as to what his behaviour may be like after the surgery. : Thank you, Colette
Neutering is a pretty simple procedure so Bobby should bounce back in no time at all. You might expect to bring home a groggy puppy and the first day he comes home I sure would try to keep him as quiet as you can. He should be fit as a fiddle in a matter of days if not sooner, but make sure to discuss recovery with your vet. Getting him neutered early should really help to keep him from marking territory, wise move! Regards, |
