Question:

: We own a croosbreed, jrt/stafford.
: We are considering getting a second dog, a staffordshire bull terrier.
: The jrt is a castrated male, the second dog will be a female.
: Do?....or don't?
: Greetings from Holland, europe

Response:

Hi Danny,

It's always hard for us to give advice on whether your terrier will get along with another dog be it another JRT or a different breed.

You are on the right track to look at a female as same sex aggression with JRTs is fairly common.

Only you know the temperament of your dog so make sure to keep that in consideration when looking for another dog. If your present dog has an alpha type personality then you are going to want your second dog to not be an alpha.

Regards,
Marie
