Older JRT

Question:

I lost my 3 yr old JRT last year in an accident. I have started thinking about getting another JRT from the same breeder. She has a 6 year old female who I met --she seems sweet. I wanted to get an older JRT because I want an already housebroken dog, which she is.
If I do end up taking her, I'd like to know any tips you can give me on acclimating her to the new home, socializing with the neighborhood dogs, etc.
Any additional resources such as books, web sites, etc would be great too.
