| Question: : I have a 4 year-old cat. I would like to get a JRT puppy - most likely, a male. How will the JRT puppy and cat get along? My cat has a lot of energy, but she's pretty passive and not mean.
There is information on the site about Cats and JRTs. I'll post the link below. Cats and JRTs are NOT a good mix. Even if you raise the puppy with a cat that is no guarantee. One day the dog may consider the cat is prey and that will be the end of your cat. Most people with cats and JRTs must keep them separated at all times. This is not easy and takes work. If you're not willing to keep them separated at all times, I'd suggest considering another breed. There are JRTs who have lived with cats for up to 6 years or more and then one day killed the family cat. Hope this helps, Jane | |||
