| Question: : I would also like to comment on the subject of crating your dog. I have crated my dog ever since she was a puppy. She is now over a year old and she LOVES her crate. To her that is the safest place she can be. Evertime she hears the car keys she runs and gets in her crate and waits for me to shut the door. She gets upset when she thinks that I'm going to run out the door and FORGET to lock her in her crate. It is not a lazy owner who doesn't know how to deal with a dog, it's a cautious owner who loves their dogs very much.
Thank you for sharing your experience with crate-training your terrier; our terriers also recognize the car key "signal." :-) Best,
