Ear Drooping & Itching

Question:

Our 9 month old JRT's left ear started drooping today and he is rubbing it with his pay more often than ever before. Could it be mites? There is no discharge in the ear canal or anything obviously wrong with the ear other than a small, white, pimple-like bump on the inside of the ear.
