Aggression towards owner

I have a 12 week old JRT who has on occasion showed aggression towards me. It is usually when I won't let him do what he wants to do. For instance, I took him outside but I had to carry him to his normal spot because my husband had sprayed the driveway with Roundup. He wanted to get down and when I wouldn't let his he bared his teeth, snared and tried to bite me. This has happened a couple of other times too. I just hold him real tight, especially his head, and tell him no. It takes a couple of these before it has any effect. What should I do? Am I doing the right thing. Why is be being so aggressive toward me, the person he has bonded with? Help.
