Question:

: When my 1 year old JR male gets hot he pants alot and drools, sometimes it looks like foam. He has had all his shots. He then starts licking anything in sight, like the deck, my ceramic floor, to chewing the bottom step of the deck, for hours. He is also very aggressive at night time. We can't walk into his room without him growling. He's never bit us. We try to ingore his behaviour. If anyone would have any info about this licking obbsession, I'd appreciate it.

Response:

Cynthia,

It sounds like your dog is getting way too overheated. Panting is normal, that's how they "sweat", but if he's drooling he's probably overheated. Make sure he has access to water. I'd also suggest discussing this with your vet.
