my puppie chews on stones and seeds...is that ok?

My puppie chews on stones and swallows seeds from apricots.
If this is bad how can i stop him? he does it even when im there or not there. i dont want him to choke. he already vomited from eating an apricot seed. what should i do and how should i do it?
