Hi Neil,

The best way to prevent this is to accompany your puppy out in the yard and if you have to keep him on a leash so you can prevent him from picking these items up.

When he goes to get one of these items tell me "NO" in a firm voice and when he stops going for the item praise him.

If you have an apricot tree in your yard you are going to have to pick up all the fruit that's fallen. Apricot pits contain cyanide and if your pup eats enough of them it can be fatal.

On top of that your pup may not pass all the ingested stones and apricot pits and this can lead to an impaction, which if not caught in time can be deadly.

Just some more reasons to clean up the yard and make sure you are out there with your puppy to watch what he's doing.
