Hi Sharon,
This isn't a breed for children with asthma, this is a breed that sheds 24/7 and then some and people with breathing problems should stay away from this or any terrier breed. They all shed.

I would suggest that you do a web search on dogs that are hypo-allerginic and see what you can find, but the Jack Russell isn't one of them.
