Question:

: We have recently acquired a jack russell - because they could not handle him - he is seven months old - he will chew anything he can get to - also will eat anything and I mean anything he can get too - has been known to eat a whole bag of peppermint patties (foil and all), Tylenol Cold and Sinus pills. Has had his stomach pumped twice - what can I do? Please help

Hi Debbie,
The easiest thing to do is keep things picked up and out of his reach, this may sound really simple but I can tell you, if he can reach it then it is fair game. If you don't keep things up and out of his way, he is going to contiue to do these things.

So basically start putting everything out of his reach. Leaving medication when a dog an get into the is very dangerous and often times fatal and so now is the time to clean house and put thing behind closed doors.

Dogs will often chew and distroy if they are board and a tired Jack Russells is a good Jack Russell and more exercise along with putting things out of his reach is the only way to a good dog.

Regards
Linda
