We would to continue to crate her until she get's used to our house. She will be home alone 6-8 hrs a day. Everyone tells me she will tear up our house when left alone. Is this true, and when I say everyone, I mean no one that has any experience with JRT's.

Hi Glen,
IMO I think that you would be wise to keep her crated while away from home. I have two that I can leave uncrated but every once in a while when the mood strikes them they will distroy something so this is something I am aware of.

Jack Russells when left to their own devices can be very distructive when bored and it is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to crating. 6 hours if fine but I don't let any of my dogs stay crated for longer than that, because is is pushing their limits on Bladder control. If I am gone for more than 6 hours I make sure I have someone come in and let them out to go potty.
