Hi Will,

The weather this season seems to have had a profound effect on our terriers; I have heard more about "excessive" shedding and itching in the last two months then in the last two years! I agree that "Mother Nature" may be a part of problem but suggest you should also consider having Jasper's blood checked to make sure there isn't a medical reason for his shedding.

If there is no medical problem, then yes -- regular brushing will not only remove excess hair but also stimulate his skin so his coat remains healthy. Diet is equally important as what "goes in" has an impact on every organ system...

Tape rolling clothes and vacumning the house is how us fellow terrier owners deal with the shedding; whether or not you choose to do it daily is really up to you, Will. :-)
