Dear Karen,

The ideal weight for any dog is not based on what the scale reads but rather on what you can "feel" and what you can "see." You should be able to feel your terrier's ribs easily when you run your hands over him and you should be able to see his "waist" (the area between his ribs and his hips) when you look down on him.

If your boy meets those two criteria, then he is at HIS ideal weight. :-)
