| Question: Hi, I do enjoy your forum, but I have to say I am pretty lucky with our "child". Bailey is a 20 month old spayed female JRT smooth coat. Our previous dogs were bichon havanese-and both died within a month of each other at the ages of 14. We wanted something completely different-boy did we get it!!! Both my husband and I work out of the house, so she is with us a lot!!! I can see where trouble can happen if you aren't there to watch this breed. Bailey has been so perfect I believe as a result of the time we have given her. Sure there has been bumps-as a puppy she challenged my husband and tried nipping at him. A mild scolding-putting her head to her chest and flipping her on her back cured that! Housebreaking was an ease-but again we were there every 20 min. taking her out w/constant praise. She does bark(alot) at our cats outside, but that is her worse behavior. For any one interested in this breed-they are simply wonderful, but they need a lot of guidance when young to mature out to a great companion(child). I wouldn't trade her for the world!!!
