| Question: : Hello, My 5 year old girl Fritzie is very attached to me although I adopted this foundling only last April. She had medical problems like bladder infect. bad teeth etc. but is OK now with all shots. I had company in the house - they left two days ago. My husband also left - and I am in emotional turmoil but it will be OK. Last night she went poops outside, she does poop quite a lot. It was a little loser than normal but nothing to worry. She eats her regular food all the time and nothing else. Today, no poop, as if she's holding it in. She ate breakfast as usual. It is 5 PM now and her last poop was last night. She also does not jump on my lap rightaway when I say UP - unusual. She now sleeps ON the bed with me most of the night. She is in the same house, same bedroom, same Beagle as companion. What's up? Thank you, I read almost every post and learn a lot!
So sorry to hear about your situation, I am sure these are very stressful times for you. These will also be stressful times for Fritzie. As you know, these little terriers get very attached to their beloved humans, so when you are upset, they too will get upset. Dogs also crave routine, her usual routine has now been set on its ear so she may react to this in different ways. Give her a day or so, sometimes during stress a dog may not eliminate like they usually do and try to keep her routine as much as normal as possible. It's a good sign that she's still eating!
