A Friend for my JRT

Question:

We have a 1yr old, Male JRT and we would like to get a playmate for him.
I have gone to every website imaginable. Can you please tell me what playmate would be suitable, compatable and sex that I should look into for my JRT?
My main concern is my baby but I don't want to find a friend for him that is not right.
