Dear Stasi,

No one here recommends getting a second dog for the purpose of providing a "playmate" for the first. Adding another pet to the household should be for human, not canine, reasons.

If you want your little guy to have a canine buddy, I recommend that instead of buying or adopting a playmate, you consider taking him to the local dog park, enrolling him in a training class or sending him to doggie daycare.
