Question:

: I have a Himalayan cat, and I wondered if this breed is compatable with cats?

Response:

Hi Elaine,

If you take the time to read some of the information on this site you will find out that we don't recommend having a JRT if you own a cat or other small furry creatures. This is a prey focused hunting dog that can one day decide living with a cat is just not for him/her. Your cat and terrier might spend years together and tolerate each other and then all of a sudden you come home to either a dead cat, or a terrier with it's face messed up by your cat.

Please take the time to read the links I am providing you. We appreciate you taking the time to ask the question. This makes you a more informed consumer. Also take into consideration of your cat. While most cats are not going to be happy with having a dog in the house, they are pretty much going to be miserable living in one that has a dog looking to make kitty its lunch. I know we will get posts from people that will say their cats and terriers get along but do you want to take the chance that they might not?
