I'm staying with some good friends with my dog before I leave for Japan for one year. My dog has been fine staying in the house except for when my friend's husband comes home. My friend's husband (who is also my friend from high school) leaves for work at 6 a.m. and gets home at 11 p.m. almost every night (he coaches football and that's how many hours these coaches work). So my dog never sees him and thinks he's a stranger. When we happen to be awake when he comes home, my dog goes charging out of the room and barks at him. This morning he heard him leaving for work this morning and somehow got out of the bedroom to charge at him and bark at him. This is an embarrassing situation and I want to know what is the best way to stop my dog from doing this. My friends are kind enough to let me stay there until I leave and they shouldn't have a dog bark at them in their own home. Your suggestions on how to handle this would be much appreciated.
