Question:

: My dog is almost two years old. She has seen the vet for leg problems. each leg seem at one time or another give out on her. She was treated with cortizone shots. First the left leg then the right leg. It does not hurt her to touch it. but, it seems to last for a time frame of three weeks or so. is this a common thing?

Response:

Dear Jennifer,

It is not common, or normal, for a JRT's rear legs to give out. Since you appear to be dissatisfied with your vet's diagnosis and treatment of your terrier, I recommend that you follow your instincts and get a second opinion from another vet.

Best of luck,
Leslie
