Question:

: My 10 month old Lab is playing to rough with the 1 year old JR. I am afraid she is going to hurt the JR. We adopted the JR from the humane society in our town 3 weeks ago. Please give me some advise.

Response:

Hi Mandy,

Well the Lab pup has a whole lot of size advantage over the JRT, but if this is just rough play and not aggression, the only thing you can do is to closely supervise their play.

The combo of a 10 month old Lab (who are usually goofy until they mature) and a 1 year old JRT (who is liable to be goofy all its life) will make for some interesting times at your home. I hope you have the patience of Job ;)

When your Lab pup starts getting too rough, then it's time to stop the play session. Labs are smart, she will start to learn boundaries set by you.

Regards,
Marie
