| Question: : My family is preparing to move to New Jersey from Arizona in a week and a half. We're having a hard time finding temporary housing that will allow pets (until we can close on and move into a new house), and I think it would be like torture to board our Jack Russell Terrier in a kennel where he would get very little room to run around and exercise. Is there a directory somewhere out there that lists long-term (6-8 weeks) care solutions?
Other then family or friends, the only other options I can think of are a dog-friendly apartment complex, a residence hotel or a boarding kennel. Since you are not comfortable housing your terrier in a boarding facility, I suggest you tell your real estate/relocation agent to work a little bit harder to find you a place where your dog is welcome. As time is short, you may also want to consider simply checking your family into a pet-friendly hotel in the area until you're able to find a place that meets all of your needs. Good luck, |
