Question:

: I've done a search on the best way to contain your JRT while riding in the car and the consensus seems to be using a crate. Is this the same crate you use in the house or a pet carrier? I want to make sure I get the right one. If it's the crate you use in the house, are there any problem using it with the combination shoulder/seat belt? Thanks.

Response:

Hi Ellen,

Either type of crate is fine, just use one your dog is comfortable in. I prefer using a wire crate for better air circulation but some dogs feel more secure in a plastic crate.

You can use your house crate provided it fits in your vehicle. We have lots of crates at our house; ones for the house, and we also have wire and plastic crates for travel. Don't ask me why we have so many lol but they do come in handy at times.

Anyway, yes secure it with the seat belt and harness when traveling.

Happy traveling!
Marie
