Question:

: Does anyone know if there is an Oral-gel product for puppies? Our Murphy is in the height of teething, bless his heart. His little mouth is so sore. He, of course, has all the great chewing toys and bone and his disposable. We even give him ice cubes. I was just wondering if there was a product (other than chew toy or usual procedure) I could use to sooth his gums.????

Response:

Dear Toni,

Instead of giving Murphy ice cubes, give him a frozen washcloth. Thoroughly soak a washcloth in water to remove any leftover detergent, wring out the excess water and then, still twisted, put the wash cloth in the freezer. Once the cloth has hardened, give it to Murphy but ONLY when you are there to supervise. The idea is for him to chew on, not ingest, the "icy bone."

Please use our search engine to read more tips on how to help your little guy (and you!) deal with his teething. :-) Note: if his gums are so sore that he is unable/unwilling to eat or pick up anything in his mouth, please have him examined by your vet as his pain may not be caused by teething.

Best,
Leslie
