Teething and ears

Question:

Hi my new puppy had a gorgeous ear set up until yesterday. It now alternates between being a tulip ear and being a rose ear...it's all wild and out of control. He just turned 14 wks; do you think it may be related to teething? All his ancestors that I have seen have beautiful button ears. A friend recommended taping, does that work? Thanks.
