: I got my Jack Russell Terrier puppy in the spring, so we have had a great time playing outside. However, I live in Minnesota, and we have several winter days where the temperature is well below zero. What do you recommend for indoor exercise and activity for Jack Russells? My dog loves to get his toys stuck in tight places (like my couch, unfortunately)and then digging them out. I would love to find a play center of some sort for him, sort of McDonald's Playland for dogs. Any ideas?

Hi Penny,

You might look into a doggy daycare center for your pup. Maybe he can go one or two days a week.

Enroll in an obedience class (he might not get much physical exercise but he will get plenty of mental exercise which is equally important). Or find a fly-ball class.

Nothing beats a hall-way (short or long) and a tennis ball for a good game of fetch!
