| Question: : Rocky is 10 weeks old and has been doing wonderful in his housbreaking except, late at night after he has calmed down from exhaustive play, he always attempts to urinate in the house. This is the only time during the entire day and he is always supervised. We have decided to put him to bed earlier. Any advise?
Thanks for your question. There is lots of house-breaking info available, if you'd use the search. Aside from that, my instinct about your situation is this: your 10 week old is still a tiny infant. He has little physical control of his bladder, and emptying it, and its not a matter of will power. Cut your play sessions short, and take him outside for a pee-break often. Every success you have (with liberal praise) shows him how good it is to "go" outside, instead of inside. I would be taking him outside every 10 or 15 minutes during play times, and most certainly at the end of the day. Hope this helps some. Best of luck, Carol |
