| Question: : We just got a new jrt puppy who is 9 weeks old. He's been doing well with housetraining because we walk him constantly. However, as soon as he enters our bedroom he poops and pees almost on demand. please help me with this dilemma because i dont understand at all. thanks!
New puppies are used to doing their 'business' anywhere, at any time, because they were in a kennel situation with Mom & littermates. The owner of the litter was cleaning up after them. Your pup has selected a spot in your home to do his business, so the trick is to keep him from that spot by not making it available to him. Keep the bedroom door closed and clean the spot (and any other mishaps) thoroughly with Nature's Miracle. Also, crate training is an invaluable aid in housebreaking. Please give it a try! Most pups are not completely housebroken until 3-4 months of age, so please be patient. Best, | |||
