| Question: : My two JRT's had their first and only litter together...they were all given to friends so I am able to see them still and I know they are being taken care of. One of the pups broke his leg after jumping out of his owners lap in the truck, the vet said it was broke in a good spot. Now his other leg is hurt and he is now limping on both back legs. The vet said the pup could have a calcium deficency...could this be it or is there possibly something else wrong. My heart just breaks knowing the pup is in pain!!!!
Personally, I'm not very comfortable with a "could have" diagnosis; it doesn't appear you are either. I suggest you have the owner take the pup to another vet for a second opinion. "Could have" isn't good enough for any dog -- especially not a pup who has already suffered a severe injury. Best of luck, |
