Question:

: I've been told that Outdoor Electric Fences don't work well with JRT's. Is this true? My JRT's behavior is absolutely perfect in many respects, but he will run away if given the chance. I'd like him to have some opportunity to run around our large yard (always supervised), but don't want to lose him.
: If you think such fencing is OK, could you please recommend a manufacturer and model?
: Thanks!

Response:

Dear A.X.,

I'm not sure if you're asking about the buried wire type of "fence", or a hot wire used in addition to a normal chain-link, wood, or wire fence. Please read the FAQ link for some opinions about them.

Jacks are very clever and diligent about either scaling a fence, or digging under. It would be heart-breaking to find your JRT missing, so go over-board on security. Thanks for your question.

Carol
