JR storing food in mouth

Question:

My 12 week old puppy will eat all of his food and then store some in the back of his mouth like a chipmonk. I noticed it white he was asleep. It looked like he was chewing bubble gum in his sleep so I pulled his mouth open and there was a ton of food stuffed in his cheeks. Is this normal? Does anyone elses' dogs do this?
