Question:

: I am getting an 8wk old puppy on 1/02/03 and would like to find out at what age is best to begin training and where might be the best place to go. I am currently in Concord,Ca. and would like to start the pup as soon as it is recomended.

Response:

Hi Michael,

Congratulations on your pending new family member!

Here at terrier.com, we believe in getting your pup enrolled as soon as it has had all of its shots.

A puppy kindergarten would be the best way to start and then you can look to basic obedience after that. This is a breed that requires much socialization and obedience training in order for it to be a good companion animal.

Check with your vet or a JRTCA State Rep in your area, or even the local shelter for the names of reputable training facilities.

Regards,
Marie
