eyelashes growing into eye

Question:

my one year old jrt's eye has been watering, took her to the vet and they found 2 eyelashes that were growing up from her bottom lid, suggested having them removed by cautery and wondered if anyone has had any experience with this kind of surgery? thanks for all the great info!!!
