Question:

: My 12 week old puppy will eat all of his food and then store some in the back of his mouth like a chipmonk. I noticed it white he was asleep. It looked like he was chewing bubble gum in his sleep so I pulled his mouth open and there was a ton of food stuffed in his cheeks. Is this normal? Does anyone elses' dogs do this?
: Thanks,
: Carrie

Hi Carrie,

Well it looks to me like you are in for a lifetime of laughs. No I have never heard of this before but it sure sounds hysterical!

The best any of mine have come up with is storing a pill in the back of their mouths and then spitting them out when I'm not looking.

Thanks for the laugh.

On a serious note though you might want to talk with your vet about this, as you want to make sure your pup is getting the adequate nutrition it needs at this time.

Regards,
Marie
