Question:

: I'm planning on getting a Jack Russell Terrier soon and I've been wondedring if it is ok to put a JRT in our laundry room with the option of a crate in there while I am away at work. The reason I wanted to put him in seperate room is because I have another small dog and didn't want anything to happen between them while I'm away. I would only be gone for a few hours a day and the seperate room would give him a space to play in.
: Thanks for all you help,
: Kathy

Hi Kathy,

This sounds like a perfectly reasonable plan of action to me, although I would make sure to crate train him with the door closed too. This is just in case he becomes destructive in the laundry room (chewing on linoleum, carpeting, woodwork, etc). I would also make sure he can't get stuck behind or inbetween the appliances. I have a 3-month-old puppy and he does quite well in his crate for four hours at a time. Good luck and fun with your new dog!

Best,
Judy
