: Can the JRT be housed outside all the time?
I'm sorry, but I don't understand why you would get a JRT, much less any dog, if you are not willing to make the dog part of your household. JRTs are not yard ornaments -- they are living creatures who need human contact in order to survive. I am not suggesting that you allow the dog to sleep in your bed or even that he/she be allowed on the furniture. What I am suggesting is that if you are going to get a dog, regardless of breed, it should be because you are willing to make him, or her, part of your family. Should you decide to go forward with your idea to purchase a JRT, I do not recommend an electronic fence as an appropriate form of containment. This type of containment is not totally secure for terriers who are regularly supervised so it definitely should not be used for terriers who have little, if any, supervision. Please reconsider getting a JRT (or any dog) if you are unable, or unwilling, to allow the pet to be part of the household. Leslie |
