Question:

: Hi, we really are looking to add a Jack Russell to our home and live in an area where JRT's aren't readily easy to find. We were wondering what the difference is between a long legged and short legged JRT is and we have been receiving conflicting information. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Response:

Dear Tammie,

A JRT is a JRT is JRT -- ALL of the breed traits apply REGARDLESS of the length of it's legs. Be wary of any breeder who tells you that a short-legged JRT is "different" from a long-legged JRT in any other way but size...and vice versa. If your "conflicting information" comes from folks who own either a short or long-legged JRT, I suggest you also "question" their experience/attitude.

The bottom line is really whether or not the JRT is the right breed for your family. I'm providing links to information that will help you make the best choice for your family; thank you for doing the research before you bring a JRT into your life.

Regards,
Leslie
