MY JRT has forgotten how to be housetrained!

My two-year old JRT lived for the first year in my previous apartment, and he was perfectly housetrained. For the past year we have lived in a larger apartment that has an enormous roof deck covered with astroturf. He has used the astroturf for his elimination needs over this time, in addition to going when we are out for a walk. When no one is home the door to the deck is closed, and for the first 11 months in this apartment he did not go in the house. However, over the past month he has completely forgotten his trainnig, and is pooping (and sometimes peeing ) at will in the house during the day and late night when the door to the deck is shut. Is there anything I can do short of crate training him again?
