: My dog recently has started to have a habit to bite its toe.there is nothing in there when ti check its toes. Can i know what the problem with my dog?Is there a Medication needed?

Response:

Hi Icy,

Chances are your dog has some kind of allergy, usually a contact allergy. It can be a grass allergy, it could also be a food allergy.

You should take your dog to the vet to have an allergy test run, and you should also take a look at what you are feeding your dog. If the food is high in corn or wheat, that might be the culprit. You should switch your dog over to a better dog food.

Discuss with your vet what you can do to alleviate your dog's itching.

Regards,
Marie
