Question:

: I'm new here and have adopted my first JR he is a rescued boy.He was not housebroken when we brought him home and we understand this.We are experienced with dogs and training/housebreaking.This boy just seems to go so often!I am talking about wetting not stools.I am wondering is there a specific method that works best for JR's?I have heard they can be harder to housebreak. We have done all the normal taking him out after every meal or nap and just because it's been a while. We want to make sure we are doing things right for him.

Response:

Dear Kelly,

Thank you for adopting a needy terrier and for understanding that he has "special" needs that may take weeks (months) to deal with. I assure you that your pet will "reward" you for your efforts. :-)

The first thing I suggest you do is to take your terrier to the vet to make sure there is no medical reason for him having to "go so often." If he is healthy, then I suggest you take advantage of our search engine. Since the majority of this Forum's questions deal with house training issues, you will likely find a solution to your particular problem. I am also including links to some FAQS for your review...

Good luck and hang in there!
Leslie
