| Question: : My family has a five-year-old male JR and we were thinking about getting another male JR because my kids fight over the one we have now all of the time. Would it be a good idea to get a 2nd male JR?
Not only is it a bad idea to get another MALE JRT, it is also a bad idea to get a 2nd dog because your children are fighting over the one you have. Same-sex aggression is well-documented in this breed so getting another male, of any breed, should not be considered. And I imagine that the minute you bring a 2nd dog into your household, your kids will start fighting over the new dog and completely forget the 5 yr. old... :-( Honestly, Tim, I think most parents would be thrilled to have their kids so involved with the family pet that they would "fight" over him or her. I highly recommend that instead of getting a 2nd dog, you set up a schedule so each of your children have equal time with the JRT. Regards,
