Behavior changes

Question:

We have had our JRT since August 2002(he was a gift from our son), we were very leary of keeping him as we have never owned a dog before. WOW, what a wonderful specimen he has turned out to be. I just cant say enough good about him, we love him soooo much. He has NEVER done anything to ruin our belongings or misbehaved in any unacceptable way. Sometimes I feel we worship the ground he walks on. Question, Will this change , are we just LUCKY thus far?
