| Question: : I have a 3 year old Jack Russell and I am also expecting a baby in a 2 weeks. I am no longer working and am at home full time. All my dog wants to do is lay in my lap with her head on my belly and sleep. I don't know if she is like that because she is used to sleeping all day from when I was working full time or if she senses something. Thanks, Denise
According to what my pregnant terrier friends have said, they believe their "fur-kids" sensed that there was something different about them. Of course, they acknowledged that the change in the routine and to the environment (baby's room!) may have contributed to the behavior but they also remarked that their dogs were especially interested in their own physical changes. These friends encouraged their terriers to be close to them and continued to include the dog when the newborn came home. There are several books on how to make this as easy as possible on all of you; please refer to the link below. Best, | |||
