Question:

: I was just wondering--when is it common for an unaltered female to go into estrus? Our puppy is ten months old, and has not gone into any sort of heat that we can see; however, her behavior has changed slightly within the past days (more troublesome, more aggressive), and her "area" has swollen slightly. Is she already in heat, or is she about to go into heat?

: And don't worry, we're getting her fixed as soon as we have the means to do so.

Sounds like she may be in heat or pretty close to coming in. It will last for at least 28 days so do not leave her unattended.
