Question:

: Today our puppies are 8 weeks old and 3 of our 4 pups will be going to new homes. Two will be going to one home and one to another couple. Is there anything I should be concerned about for my bitch? She has stopped nursing the pups. And second, is there any information I can give to the new owners (both owners currently have JR's now). Thanks and you have an excellent site.

Response:

The mother will be fine, but do send the pups with a shirt/towel with the scent from your house to their new home. Also make sure that these pups leave only with a sales contract that you will take them back at any point of the dogs life. As for other onformation you can check the site for house breaking issues, crate training etc. You should also send the pup with a supply of food until the new owners can either buy their suppy or ween the puppy off of that to a new food.
