Question:

: My JRT, Vixen is 21 months old. She had three puppies in Dec 2003 and I have decided to keep all three. Over the past few weeks Vixen has begun to urinate and poop in the house which is something she has not done in a year or more. She seems to be very jealous of the puppies and will not leave them alone when all are in the yard. She constantly runs at them and over them, knocking them to the ground. I try to give all of them equal time outdoor but have found I can't leave her outside with the pups. I have been told that dogs can't reason and its not possible these problems are caused by jealousy.


Response:

Her relapse in housebreaking may need medical attention to make sure she is healthy after whelping the puppies. Is she being aggressive with the puppies or just playing to rough with them. I would suggest that before one of the puppies gets hurt you let them out with out mom (crate).
