Question:

: My 6 year old male JRT is suddenly pooping in the house. Usually he goes at during his after dinner or before bed walks. Now we wake up to them and come home to them. It's been about 3-4 days of this and it's always in the same spot. Other than that he's the same guy. Same play sleep and eating habits. Any advice?

Response:

Hi Danielle,

When a dog suddenly behaves differently than he usually does, in this case pooping inside instead of out, this is the time to take him to the vet to rule out any physical reason for this change.

He could have some type of bacteria, gastroenteritis or the like. Only your vet can rule these things out. Once they are then it's a behavioral problem that will need to be addressed.

One other thing, if you have recently changed his food or feeding schedule this might be the reason.

Regards,
Marie
